An Artist That I Admire

http://www.artchive.com/ftp_site.htm

Vincent Van Gogh
I admire his work because he takes the simplest of colors and even strokes (you could say) and turns them into a master piece. This piece in particular (Starry Night) has always been one of my favorites. It has always been able to catch my attention... I remember looking at it thinking it is so simple, but not a single soul in the world can draw the same exact picture. It is a one of a kind and that is how I would like my work to be. I want to be able to draw and create work that is simple yet complex and compelling. Just like Vincent Van Gogh. I am a beginner with working with colors as well so he is an inspiration and a sort of "Artistic" relief becuase my colors don't have to be perfect. They just need to be creating form and giving specific direction. Yes, it is complicated, but not too complicated for me.

Standards of Shading

Drawing with the pencil is the typical art for me. I have always always always enjoyed drawing people and fantasy creatures but I have never learned how to properly shade. That is one area that I am going to try my hardest to learn and work on because I will enjoy my drawing and efforts that much more! This piece in particular was somewhat challenging. It still has ALOT of work to do, but for now, this is what I have accomplished.

Inside The Mind of The Artist

This is the beginning of a long journey into finding my very best artistic and creative potential. I have always been very fond of drawing and I have come to find that my drawings are decent, but I know that I can do better with a little direction. I am excited to see what this year will bring when it comes to my artistic ability! So let's get started!
